So many of the blogs I used to read are abandoned. The reasons are varied – “too busy”, “nothing left to say”, “it didn’t work”, “no one read what I wrote anyway” – and more. For whatever reason maintaining a blog with a dominance and submissive theme seems to have lost it’s appeal to many.
My RSS reader contains a number of URLs, but most of them are either sex-related blogs or political rant types of blogs. I find myself wondering, are the D/s blogs out there and I just don’t know about them?
So I want to know from you. What D/s themed blogs do you read?
Also… to those of you who used to blog (I’d list you, but I’m afraid I’d omit someone by accident)… I miss you. I miss reading about your lives. Even if there’s nothing kinky going on in your life, I still miss your thoughts.
No related posts.

We haven’t abandoned our blog, but I do post less then when we started. I don’t think it’s really a D/s issue…2.5 yrs is a long time for a blog and sometimes it does feel like I don’t have much to say that isn’t just repeating myself.
I think there’s a natural ebb and flow to my writing and I’m sure I’ll start posting more. It might be more fiction and less ‘real life’, but I’ve always enjoyed writing and I doubt that will ever really stop.
Cheers,
sss
I can’t believe that the blogging craze has burnt out already.
The typical blog lasts for 3 to 6 months, and then lies fallow because the person can’t figure out what to write anymore. I think that many femdom D/s kink blogs have a similar problem – after a year or two of ranting a little, writing some fiction, and talking about how much sex they are having (or not), they lose interest because it all starts to sound the same.
That is, of course, because after a while, they do all sound the same.
Sadly, a few of the ones that I’ve enjoyed the most closed up because the writers found that after dabbling in it a bit, they just didn’t care for the medium.
I see a similar problem with chastity or orgasm denial blogs; after a few months, it gets kind of boring to read “63 days – I’m still locked up.” And personally, as somebody who kept a journal at one time when we were playing long term, it gets boring to write about. That’s why I laugh when I see the search engine terms leading to my own blog that have “chastity” or “OD” queries – it’s really only a small number of my posts that deal with it.
Anyway, you know who I miss the most, right? She stopped by a few times, but it’s been a while.
Your blog is the only one I still follow. I haven’t checked it in some time since you took your hiatus from writing. I always think yours is interesting but I think some of the others quit writing because they didn’t have anything to say. That’s why I quit.
I quite agree that keeping a blog going ain’t easy. If it wasn’t for Tom and Suzy ghost writing for me all the time I don’t know what I’d do.
As my wife and I are new to FLR. I(WE) read yours, Kink Unleashed, Elise Sutton blog and Devastating Yet Inconsequential on a consisted basis. The problem I found is most blogs dealing with D/s, FLR and BDSM not all the interesting to either one of us.
These blogs seem to have some thought to them and deal with all issues surrounding this lifestyle.
Thanks
I think a lot of what Tom says is so true.
But I have been reviewing my Blog because of the imminent introduction of Mandatory Internet Filtering in Australia. D/s subjects are still Taboo! Although Bonnie at “Collar and Cuffs” appears to be publishing alright?
And no matter how careful one’s writing, an enemy at work always finds out and informs a team leader and you lose your job.
In Australia we do not have freedom of speech only freedom of political communication and their are many subjects prohibited. Sigh….
Lady Julia… I may be one of those missing folks, but mostly not for lack of something to write, purely not enough time in the day. I’m more in the ‘journal’ mode than anything else at the moment, and I yearn for a change in my life that doesn’t make for interesting writing. So, I’ve been content to just steal a few moments to visit your blog when I can, and Tom’s as well… Two of the blogs that seem to interest me the most.
Still out here, and still enjoying a quick read when I can; thank you for writing and sharing!
Nigel: It is so difficult for me to comprehend that D/s subjects are going to be Taboo via the internet in Australia. I never realized you do not have the same freedom of speech there as we have here. (By the way, I did receive your email and will be responding very soon.)
Gary: I am always glad to see when you post. Perhaps the whole world might not be interested in some of your day to day things, but I think your blog friends would. I know I would. That said, I understand completely that people have reasons why they feel they should stop.
Mac: If you really want to blog, maybe give it another try. You would be surprised at what people would find interesting. I recently read a post about someone’s first trip of the season to the Farmer’s Market in his area and it was pretty interesting to me. It was to several others as well, judging by the comments. If you want to write interesting stuff, write about what interests you.
Dan: Welcome to you and your wife :) I am not certain but I think this is your first time comment here. I’m really glad you find something interesting here to read and I look forward to hearing both your thoughts on share subjects of interest. I’ve always thought there was some really great stuff said in the comments section, sometimes things that are far better than the original post because a discussion ensues :)
Sweat Shop Sissy: It is good to know that you are still out there blogging! I look forward to catching up with your writings.
Tom: The person you miss is still around.. hopefully if we keep being sweetly persuasive, she will reconsider blogging again.
