It seems that Debbie Rowe, the biological mother of Michael Jackson’s children, has announced to the world that Michael was not the father her children. This wasn’t leaked to the tabloid press by someone else, she told them.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald,
Rowe reportedly then gave away her parental rights to the children in exchange for a $US8.4million payout over nine years.
She apparently went on to say,
“I was no good. I don’t want these children in my life. My children are my animals now.”
So… the man they’ve known as their father is dead. Their mother publicly states she doesn’t want them and that she gave them away for millions of dollars. Then she announces their father wasn’t really their father.
As I was thinking about how devastated these children must already feel and how much worse it will be because of her heartless statements, I recalled comments I had read in the past made by Elise Sutton on the subject of female superiority:
“I feel that I am a bit of an expert based on my years of study, observation and participation.”
“Once I learned about the natures of both men and women and once I learned about the natural dominance and supremacy of women over men..”
“The truth is that women are the superior gender and that once a woman unleashes her dominant power, no man will be able to stand up to her.”
Umm.. yeah. Ok.
I don’t think so.
To say women are superior to men makes as much sense to me as the long held belief by many that men are superior to women. There are plenty of people of both genders who prove this wrong. There are some things *individuals” do better than others, but I think it’s devaluing to people to say that everyone of a certain gender is better than they are.
I’m not in control because I am superior to him. I am in control because he chooses to surrender and I choose to take control.
(Note: The link between Rowe and Sutton’s comments is strictly mine. My mind often goes to the Female/Male Superiority issue whenever I read about people who completely disprove the theory.)

Lady Julia,
When somebody says they are superior, I always say “at what”. Nobody can be better than everyone at everything. The skill in life is to recognize when to other let the other person drive, and when you should drive.
My father was the type of man who had to control everything. When he remarried he bought a boat with my step mom. This was my dad’s first boat. They went down to a marina on a crowded weekend to launch it. Try as he might he could not back the boat down the launch ramp. Now my step-mom grew up with boats. She was handling boats since she was 10. She could trailer launch a boat before she had her driver’s license. The marina operator strongly suggested that my step-mom drive. My dad was not happy but acquiesced. My step-mom launched on the first try.
This story is not about male/female superiority, but who had the skills to launch the boat. My dad laughs about it now, which is a huge step for him. There are many things he is better at than my step-mom and she lets him take the lead on those things. This is how I think it should be.
I forgot who said this, but I like it. “The purpose of any marriage/pairing/relationship is to make one whole sane person. That combining and pooling your talents you can be better than what you were individually.” I like to believe this is true.

Lubyanka: You are too funny :)
Mike: I loved your story and the quote at the end . I like to believe that is true as well. Thanks :)
It is clear that women are superior to men. Men cause all the wars, commit most of the violent crimes, and cannot bear children. Women need to harness their sexuality, bring men to their knees, and take control.
I’ve never met a woman I felt was “superior” to me. Not when taken as a whole. I’d like to, though. I think she’d be fascinating to talk to.
LOL @ Anonymous poster. That just means that *some* women are superior to *some* men.
Men are superior to women.
But women are superior to men.
If the world had only men in it, we would live in a state of constant warfare. If the world had only women in it, everyone would live in grass huts. Each of us makes the other far more than we would be alone.
Best,
Felix

And here are two beautiful examples of the benefits of sexual education courtesy of the sex industry.
I’m just delighted to know that by virtue of my genitals, all I’m good for is to take orders from men and to build fucking grass huts.
I feel so much better about myself now. *sigh*
Lubyanka — you miss my point. I was trying to say that men and women complete each other in a way that enables them both to do extraordinary things. We challenge and inspire each other to do and be more than our unitary natures would permit.
That is not a feminist analysis, but it is certainly not a misogynistic one, either.
I think the notion of “Female Superiority” is as biased as saying “White Supremacy” or “Anti-semitic”. I don’t think females are superior, any more than whites or christians. They’re just people. To believe otherwise seems bigoted to me.
Now, how I TREAT a woman is a totally different matter. I’m old fashioned, and also submissive. That inclines me to wish to treat a woman like a Lady, and to defer to her wishes. I don’t do so because I believe she’s superior. I do so because I wish to treat her that way. It’s a choice, and a gift from me. Not an entitlement.

In my opinion, mutual challenge, inspiration and extraordinary accomplishments are unrelated to gender, and are a result of human teamwork. It seems obvious to me that collaborative human efforts can achieve some exceptional results which can be greater than the sum of the parts, and that gender combinations, sexual orientation, and relationship status have nothing to do with that.
In my opinion, your analysis excludes any single-gender group comprised of more than one woman or man, trans-gender, or queer people, and any groups of people accomplishing things whilst in any kind of relationship other than a sexual one. Essentially, I cannot accept your analysis because it limits the possibility of mutual challenge, inspiration, and extraordinary achievement, solely to those who are comfortable with heterosexual monogamy, and to those who limit their efforts to accomplish things solely within a heterosexual relationship.
Also, I may certainly be able to achieve more as part of a team, and I may or may not be happier being in a sexual relationship than without one, but honestly, I really don’t need a man to complete me in any way. I really seriously don’t need a man to make me “whole” or any such thing. I am a complete individual already all by myself, thank you very much.
I think that romanticising and idealising the sexual relationships which you personally would like to have is a nice idea. However, please remember that your romanticised ideals of what relationships are and can achieve are your personal romanticised ideals, and therefore are unlikely to work for everybody.
This is all too theoretical for me.
I know one thing: My Mistress is damned smart (maybe even smarter than I am at some things) and that I choose to kneel at her feet and take orders from her and put my efforts and my talents to her use. This completely side steps a lot of problems that a lot of vanilla couples seem to have.
Lubyanka,
I loved your last response. I think you nailed it. You rock.
